Pysanky Workshop, Sunday April 2nd 1pm-4pm
Pysanky Workshop, Sunday April 2nd 1pm-4pm
Learn to make traditional Ukrainian decorated eggs with a beautiful, magical, wax-resist technique. No experience necessary; all materials provided. Class will be held at 3040 NW 63rd Street in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
Day 1, Sunday December 11th 1pm-4pm:
Learn to use a kistka to apply beeswax to the surface of an egg. Explore geometric patterns and traditional symbols or choose your own adventure! Dye or etch your egg in layers, empty out the inside, and leave it in class to dry out.
In the intervening week, your instructor will varnish your egg, and attach a finding for hanging your egg, if you wish. You may also take your egg home on day 1 to varnish yourself.
Pickup day (optional) Sunday, December 18th 1pm:
Pick up your finished work and admire your classmates’ work too! Leave with your finished egg. Perfect for a holiday gift.
